What is cannabidiol (CBD)?

Cannabidiol (CBD) - THC's Non-Psychoactive Counterpart

Next to the more popularly known cannabinoid THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), CBD, or cannabidiol, is the second most prominent compound in cannabis and the most prominent cannabinoid in hemp. The cannabis plant contains many different cannabinoids -- with some scientists estimating there could be as many as 110 cannabinoids or more! Many people know or have heard of THC as the main ingredient of cannabis which is typically associated with the user's "high". Unlike THC though, CBD (cannabidiol) is non-psychoactive and even has anti-psychotic effects which suggests that CBD can also act to reduce the intoxicating effects of THC. In addition, regular use of CBD rich hemp oil  has demonstrated potential health benefits for a wide variety of medical conditions.
